Bangalow Home – A Transformation Story
A dark and dated rental brought to life with layered styling, natural textures, and a softer, brighter palette.
This Bangalow property was full of charm but lacked warmth and flow. With thoughtful styling, fresh furnishings, and carefully curated details, each room was reimagined to feel inviting, calm, and connected. The transformation highlights how styling can completely shift the mood of a space—without a full renovation.
For this project, I leaned into a soft coastal–meets–rustic style. The aim was to respect the home’s timber details while lightening the overall palette to create flow and calm. Neutral furnishings layered with natural textures—linen, rattan, and raw wood—set the tone, while subtle styling accents like fresh greenery, ceramics, and textiles brought softness and soul. The result is a space that feels grounded in nature, relaxed in spirit, and timeless in design.
Second Living / Lounge
Before: The lounge lacked cohesion, with heavy furniture placement and clutter.
After: A neutral sectional, rattan accents, and layered lighting refreshed the space into a relaxed, open living area, perfect for entertaining or winding down.
Bedroom
Before: Sparse furniture and minimal styling left the bedroom feeling unfinished.
After: Layers of soft textiles, flowing curtains, and a canopy detail transformed the room into a serene retreat. The addition of a textured rug and natural bench adds both warmth and grounding.
Living & Dining
Before: The living and dining areas felt heavy, with mismatched furniture and limited light flow.
After: By introducing a neutral sofa, woven textures, and soft accent styling, the space now feels bright, cohesive, and welcoming. The dining zone was simplified with natural chairs and greenery, creating balance with the feature timber mirror.
Office / Spare Room
Before: Used as a storage space, this room wasn’t functional or inviting.
After: A clean desk, curated shelving, and sheer curtains created a light-filled home office that inspires focus while still feeling calm and homely.
